Alison Doody

Alison Doody is an Irish actress and model. She was born on 11th November 1966. Doody made her acting debut in a Bond film called A View to a Kill in 1985. In 1989 she played Nazi-sympathizing archaeologist Elsa Schneider in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Siobhan is in A Prayer for the Dying, Charlotte in Taffin and Rebecca Flannery Major League II. Doody began modeling when she was approached. The result was that it turned out to be a profitable career. Doody was averse to glamour and nude work. This was a principle that she incorporated into her acting. If she came to the director's attention in a James Bond film, Doody accepted a minor role on the film A View to a Kill (1985). Doody was named one of the 12 most promising young actors in 1986 in John Willis Screen World. 38. Doody had just turned 18 years old at the time she was cast in the role as a Bond girl. Doody is the youngest Bondgirl to date. A different early film had her in a minor role in the role of IRA Siobhan Doovan, a member of the IRA in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) that featured Mickey Rourke. Doody was a voice actor in the 1987 adaptation of The Secret Garden appearing as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias in the movie of his dreams. The first time she played the lead in the 1988 episode of Jim Henson fantasy series The Storyteller as Sapsorrow opposite John Hurt Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. The year 1988 was the first time she played with Pierce Brosnan on the movie Taffin. Her most notable performance to date was her role as Austrian Nazi sympathizer and archaeologist Doctor Elsa Schneider opposite Harrison Ford in the 1989 film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. It also featured Sean Connery as Indy's father Doody was a part of three actors who have portrayed James Bond. Doody co-starred in 1991 with Jonathan Pryce opposite the British mini-series Selling Hitler, which was an inspiration for the book fraud called The Hitler Diaries. The actress later relocated to Hollywood. It was her choice to succeed Cybill Shepard as L'Oreal spokeswoman. She continued to play opposite Charlie Sheen as Flannery, his girlfriend and agent on the film Major League II. After a long absence from screen Doody returned to acting and acted in a tiny role in 2003 British comedy movie The Actors with Michael Caine as her character in the event scene for the award ceremony. In 2004, she appeared with Patrick Swayze as a television adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. She played a role on Benjamin's Struggle, a 2005 publication about the Holocaust. in 2010 Doody was a character in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture (2010). The Clinic, a medical drama, aired on RTE. The Asphyx was the 2011 version of her film. In 2011, she started the first season of two on E4 comedy drama Beaver Falls playing Pam Jefferson. She also appeared on the show in 2014 as We Still Kill the Old Way. In November 2018 she was awarded the Almeria award for best film and was awarded a Star on the Almeria Walk of Fame.
